Budget Meals for Students

Have you ever wondered what you can buy from your allowance and still have enough money left over for your other expenses? There are a lot of budget meals that are within your budget if you are not a picky eater. Here is a list of some quick stomach items that could be right for you.

1) Ramen noodles
They are so cheap because a pack comes with plain noodles and sodium seasoning. What will make it healthier and more nutritious is if you add affordable vegetables in the broth. Easy on the pocket and delicious too.

2) Tuna sandwich
A can of tuna is not expensive. Spread that between two toasted rye bread with a slice of cheese and you have a healthy meal already. Add mayonnaise or natural yoghurt if you want to.

3)  Pasta
Pasta dishes are easy to cook and are affordable too. Spaghetti and a jar or spaghetti sauce will not break your budget. Very filling also since this is carbohydrates.

4)  Scrambled eggs
Eggs are very affordable and can be a delicious meal with toasted bread with butter. Instead of scrambled eggs, you can have egg sandwich as an alternative.

5) Tacos
Tacos are inexpensive and easy to assemble. Just have a ground beef, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, grated cheese and put these inside the taco shell. The result is a tasty and nutritious meal.

6)  Vegetable stir fry and rice
Buy some vegetables in season that you can stir fry and  put as toppings over rice. This makes for a healthy and complete meal.

7) Beans and hotdogs
A can of beans and a hotdog can be an affordable but tasty treat.  Just add slices of bread with the meal and that would surely hit the spot.

8) Cheese sandwich
This is very is very inexpensive and easy to do. You might want to have some chips along with this to make it more filling.

Go to your grocery and find out the things that are on sale and improvise on what is available. You will be surprised that there are a lot more that you can bring to school for lunch. You can get ideas from your friends also or from the internet.
